For those who don’t know already – there won’t be any more meetings during this term on Thursdays 7-9PM since the term has finished 
Instead, we’re planning on some meetings in town at the weekends. There are no details on them yet so please bear with us and I’ll update the page as soon as we set a place and time.

Just a quick reminder about our tournament – it’s on next weekend, 19-2oth November 2011 on the main campus of UCC, in Electrical Engineering building, room L1. If you haven’t registered yet, please do so by e-mailing us (goclub@umail.ucc.ie) as soon as possible.

Last Wednesday (12th October) the UCC Weiqi Club held an EGM regarding the tournament we are organising next month. We do have a general setup now and are ready to begin the registration. General information on the tournament:
When and where: 19-20th November 2011, Electrical Engineering Building L1
Tournament system: 5 rounds, McMahon, Class B, EGF General tournament rules apply
Time limit: 50 min. and 30 seconds byo-yomi
Rules: Japanese
Komi: 6½ points

Just a quick reminder – the Weiqi (yes, we have changed the name at last!) weekly meetings take place every Thursday at 7PM in Boole 5. Everybody welcome, no matter whether you know how to play or not! We have a few experienced players that will be delighted to explain the rules to beginners. On the other hand, if you already know how to play, I’m sure you’ll find a worthy opponent!
Good news! We have already booked a room for this year’s meetings. Starting on the 22nd September, during this term we will be meeting up every Thursday from 7-9PM in Boole 5. See you on the 22nd!!!
Hello and welcome to the new site of our club! The new college year brought us a lot of changes – new domain and new, fresh, lovely site! Do you like it? I certainly do! I decided that using a blog structure is much easier to maintain and update. It’s also much clearer for the users, so hopefully the change is for the better. On the main page I will be updating you on the most important Go events in UCC, Ireland and even Europe 
In the links you can find lots of useful resources for studying Go. I will also add a few pages with the book/go sets loan scheme and such. That’s more less for now, talk soon!
